Games and Software

Casino Room boasts upwards of 550 games on its site. There are many fan favourites from the likes of Microgaming, NetEnt, Betsoft, Thunderkick and other top software developers. What’s great about the online game room is the easy ability to search and organise the games: the (highly visible) menu bar on the left lets you choose between slots, Roulette (five games, including French Roulette and European Roulette), Blackjack (twelve games, including Blackjack Multihand, 21 Burn Blackjack and American Blackjack), classic slots (twelve games, including Break Da Bank and Mystery Joker), jackpot slots (nine games, including Mega Gems, A Night in Paris JP and Slots Angels), a miscellaneous ‘fun game’ section, with scratchcards (Beer Fest, Scratcherz) and hundreds of video slots (108 Heroes, A Dragon Story) for your choosing.

We found the selection of non-slot games a little limiting, but if you’re a slot lover, this is a great site for you! You may notice that home page advertises over 900 games, but if you were to get counting you’ll find that there’s just over 550 – that’s because you’ll need to create an account and get yourself logged in, to take advantage of all 900 games on offer. On the whole, we like what this site provides and its room for potential!

Live Casino

We love a good game of live casino as much as any online casino fan…which is why it was a tad disappointing that we logged into Casino Room’s live casino area, only to find a grand total of nine live dealer games. Really.

The upside of this is Evolution Gaming runs the room (aha!) here, and they’re the gold standard of the live casino industry. But, unless you’re a fan of –

  • Ultimate Texas Hold’Em
  • Casino Hold’Em
  • Roulette Live
  • Baccarat Live
  • Blackjack Live
  • Caribbean Stud Poker
  • Three Card Poker
  • Blackjack HD
  • Live Casino Roulette

…we’re not saying this is a bad thing (and really, this is much better than some other online casinos, who have very little to no live games on offer). But, we’d hoped to have seen more, given the rest of Casino Room’s impressiveness.

Again, we’re not complaining about what’s on offer, and really, what’s listed above is more than serviceable. But for fans of live casino with a twist, and all those exciting new variants, this isn’t the place to be.

User Interface

It’s been a while since we’ve seen a such a clean, easy-looking site!

The menu at the top of the screen directs you to the important things in life (well, in online casino): all games, your account and bonuses.

Once you go to the games section, these appear in a line down the left-hand side, and re subdivided into all games, Slots, Roulette, Blackjack, Live Casino (ahem – see above), Classic Slots, Jackpots, Other and – here’s the best bit – Your Favourite Games. It’s been a while since we’ve seen anything actually encouraging us to save the games we want to play over and over!

Below all that, you can choose games by a themed ‘collection’, such as ‘sporty’ – play games like Basketball Star or Bicicleta – or venture into the ‘at the movies’ section for games like James Dean or King Kong. We also like that there’s a ‘play for fun’ option with almost every game.

And although you can filter each category by ‘popular’, ‘latest’, ‘A to Z’ and ‘Z to A’, we found that the ‘popular’ setting was just the same as alphabetical – so there are a few glitches to figure out.

Mobile Casino

Casino Room’s mobile site has a simple but appealing user interface, and works across Chrome, Safari and Mozilla. It offers a few dozen slot games, three table games and one classic slot – thus far. The menu offers ‘bonus games’, ‘popular games’ and ‘new games’ although the first two options came up with zero games. Whether this was a glitch, or there were actually missing games remains to be seen.

On that note, the mobile homepage also promotes ‘live casino’ games that lead to an error message – because, presumably like the desktop site, no live games are being offered currently.

As for bonuses, payments and help options – most things are available as they are on the desktop site. Payments are limited to VISA, Mastercard and Trustly, but we liked the easy-to-navigate options to Skype, telephone or message customer care.

As of now, there’s no mobile app available for Casino Room – though we think that’s a good thing, as there’s room to grow and improve the mobile site first.

Gamification

With a tagline like “winning is just the beginning” we were expecting more than just your standard games from Casino Room and they didn’t disappoint!

Right on the homepage are the “Today’s Biggest Wins” and “Activity Right Now” boards, showing up-to-date information on who’s joining, playing and winning. The extra competitive edge of the leaderboards is exciting and can be organised by day, week or month, as well as the top winner or the most active player.

Although a little hard to navigate initially, Casino Room gives players the excitement of joining a mission, where they have to complete certain tasks (a certain number of spins or wins on a particular game) to move up levels and surpass other gamers. Top players will receive exciting perks, bonuses and more. It really adds to the gaming experience, we only wished more casinos were doing this too!

Promotions

Casino Room doesn’t seem to offer any bonuses after joining. There is a loyalty type program where every user gains Experience Points (XPs) whenever they do certain actions – open a new game, make a deposit etc. And if you start completing the missions as mentioned above, you can really excel on the leaderboard and reap in the rewards. Aside from that, however, promos are few and far between – ouch! This isn’t necessarily a bad thing – more and more online casinos are moving towards gamification, after all – but for lovers of traditional bonuses and promotions might find this a rather hard pill to swallow.

Banking

Casino Room online accepts deposits from VISA, MasterCard, WebMoney, Bank Wire, Trustly, Neteller, Paysafecard, and Skrill. Transaction times vary but are usually within one day for e-wallets, or three to five days for bank transfers. There’s a €10 deposit minimum and a €5,000 withdrawal maximum per week, which is pretty standard for online gaming sites.

Our biggest issue was that it was hard to find information about the banking options on the website, which became quite frustrating, but the reputation of the site keeps us from worrying too much about that. We know Casino Room is well-respected as an online casino, but we would have liked to have found the information a little easier.

Customer Support
  • Live Chat: Yes
  • Email: support@casinoroom.com
  • Telephone: +44 1489 232 095
  • FAQ: Yes
  • Availability: 24/7

To find the Casino Room contact info you have to go to the FAQ section – and, like with most casinos, all the info is right there. Online chat was very responsive (they got back to us within three minutes) and helpful, plus there’s also a Skype option (though it was ‘closed’ at the time) and a box to ‘leave a message’ instantly – so overall, we were rather satisfied here.

Our Verdict

On a whole, we really enjoyed our gaming experience at Casino Room. The wide variety of games can keep anyone entertained for hours, and we loved the idea of joining in on a ‘mission’ for extra perks and fun. Watching the leaderboards is quite thrilling and grabs gamers in a different way than standard ol’ casino play.

There were a few glitches on both the desktop and mobile pages, not to mention the nine-game live casino section, but aside from that, the sites run well, and we like the easy navigation of the game pages. It’s a simple yet appealing site and we think there are plenty of good times to be had at the Casino Room online casino.
