Ladbrokes Casino

While Ladbrokes brick-and-mortar casinos date back to the 19th century, the Ladbrokes Casino online has only been around since 2000. That being said, it’s quite a long time in the internet era. With its famous name backing the site, does Ladbrokes Casino pull out all the stops online? It’s time to find out… Backed by Playtech games and licensed and regulated by the UK Gambling Commission, you know with Ladbrokes you’re in for a safe but stupendous adventure.

Games and Software

For such a big name casino we were almost shocked to discover that Ladbrokes only hosts games from Playtech. But Ladbrokes provides almost 300 different kinds of games, nicely stacked and organised into different categories. When it comes to branded games, there’s an awesome selection here. The whole Batman Begins series is available (with progressive jackpots), there are classics like Robocop, Rocky and Sherlock Mystery, and entertainment themed games like Little Britain and Top Trumps Celebs. Plus, there’s several more… Sports fans will find the Frankie Dettori series and Top Trumps Football Stars to their liking, which are also attached to a progressive jackpot. If you haven’t figured it out already, there are plenty of jackpot slots on the site to choose from, as well – Ruler of the Sky, Age of Gods: Furious 4 and Everybody’s Jackpot, to name a few.

There’s no shortage of Casino Games at Ladbrokes online either. Try your luck at Craps, European Roulette, Blackjack Switch, Tequila Poker and dozens of other classic card games. There’s also a growing selection of Video Poker games (right now, there are fifteen available), so you can try your hand at Joker Poker or Jacks are Better if you feel like it. There were even a couple of ‘Casual Games’, as Ladbrokes called them… Darts, Bonus Bowling and a few Scratch Cards that we had fun with. So even though the site is just backed by Playtech (which, let’s be real is a pretty awesome software provider), they’ve got such a variety of games, we didn’t mind at all.

Live Casino

There is a surprisingly small Live Casino at Ladbrokes online, but that’s perhaps because the tables they offer are exclusive to Ladbrokes. They offer Exclusive Roulette, and Exclusive Blackjack 1, Exclusive Blackjack 2 and Exclusive Blackjack 3. On top of that, you’ll find one of each of the top table games available as well – Live Roulette, Live Blackjack, Live Blackjack, Live Casino Hold’em and Live Hi-Lo. All the games run smoothly, are well-designed and have the added bonus of working on your mobile. The only downside? We wish there was more of them.

User Interface

Ladbrokes online casino has their famous red and white colour scheme, that reminds us very much of their land-based casinos. The website is clean, well-organised and full of games. Ladbrokes offers more than just casino games (there’s sports betting, bingo and lottery, too) so it’s easy to imagine everything could get quite messy, but it doesn’t. All the different play categories are clearly marked along the menu bar on the very top of the screen. Slightly further down, below your account info and the login area, is a more refined menu for the casino with options like Home, Quick Start, Promotions, Games, Live Casino and more.

Once you’re in the Casino area, the games are organized into even smaller categories such as New Games, Movies & TV, Video Poker and a few others. There’s also a search function that allows you to look for whichever game might strike your fancy and the games pop up as you type with a ‘Play Now’ button so you’re not wasting time going from page to page before you can start playing. All in all, it’s a really appealing layout that is simultaneously fresh and interesting yet easy-to-navigate, which in our minds, is the best of both worlds.

Mobile Casino

Ladbrokes knows it’s players and knows they like convenience which is why they’ve taken the time to optimise their mobile site. If you’re an iOS or Android user, you can download a special casino app that’s made for your phone or tablet… and if you don’t have room to download another app, don’t worry, the site has been fully fitted for any kind of mobile! We were pleased to find that the mobile version truly is a mini version of the desktop site. It’s clean, well-organised and stocked with all our favourite games. On top of that, the login information and account area are very easily accessible, as are the promotions. Customer Support is also available via your mobile, but we did have a little trouble connecting to the Live Chat. We also did have some trouble scrolling through categories on the horizontal menu bar (there were ways to bypass this) so it seems there were a few, minor glitches on the site still. Aside from that, it’s got Ladbrokes’ professionalism and charm all over it, and the games worked brilliantly.

Gamification

Ladbrokes online casino has so much going on but gamification just wasn’t one of those things. There are plenty of Ladbrokes exclusive promos and qualities to the site but there weren’t any missions, goals, or leaderboards that we could find. The jackpots do have a running tally so that’s a fun category to look at, however, on a whole, Ladbrokes is truly lacking in this section.

Promotions

We expected big promotional offers out of this site… they’ve got the backing of a huge brand name, so why not offer players lots of freebies and extras? They didn’t disappoint. It seems like they run all sorts of promotions throughout the year here, from a standard welcome offer to prize draws and special offers for the Live Casino itself. There’s even a Super Daily Jackpot that’s won literally every day and another jackpot to be won that’s boasting in the millions.

Aside from the promos themselves, players have the opportunity to earn Comp Points which they can exchange for cash. Members of the site are automatically enrolled into this feature and receive points for playing games at the Ladbrokes Casino and Slots. Ladbrokes wouldn’t be complete without a VIP Programme where players can work their way up from Bronze to Silver to Gold to Platinum by earning points on certain games. It’s not the same as Comp Points, so essentially you’re earning double for one thing… And at Gold and Platinum levels, the perks are plentiful.

Banking

At Ladbrokes, there are a variety of popular payment options available. Whether you prefer to pay with a credit or debit card or e-wallet, there’s an option for you. All deposits are instant except for Bank Transfer which can take 1-5 days. While there’s only a £5 minimum for VISA and Paysafecard, all the other methods require a £10 deposit at least. To withdraw your winnings, you need a simple £0.01 minimum and can receive your payout in as little as six hours. VISA cards may take between 1-3 days and a Bank Transfer, again, will vary between 1 and 5 days. These are pretty standard terms, although we hardly see a deposit option as low as £5, so that was a nice touch.

Customer Support
  • Live Chat: Yes
  • Email: form
  • Telephone: UK based – 0800 777 888 and international +44 208 866 4488
  • FAQ: Yes
  • Availability: 24/7

Ladbrokes provides a variety of ways to get in touch with Customer Support. They even supply a Twitter channel at which you can contact the care team instantly (they can be reached @LadbrokesCare). The FAQ page is very elaborate and it’s easy enough to find articles in the search function. The one downside was that all the Customer Support information was in a variety of different articles, and we did have that snag with the Live Chat on our mobile. Definitely not the worst we’ve seen though, just not 100% perfect.

Our Verdict

Ladbrokes Casino is famous for a reason: they do casinos the right way. Their Playtech backed games are available instantly on your mobile or your desktop computer, there’s a wide selection of promotional offers, and they have decades upon decades of loyal gamers supporting their online casino. And there’s something to be said about joining such a long-standing institution: you don’t feel like a stranger playing at Ladbrokes, you feel like part of a family.
