Play OJO Casino

Play OJO is an excitingly themed casino with bright, playful colours - it's a bit different to your usual, run-of-the-mill brand. Operated by SkillOnNet, a highly regarded group, who are pretty well-known for exciting site design, Play OJO looks - and is - a bit out of the blue. This starts right from the very first look at their logo, made up of the name; two ‘o’s for the eyes and a cheeky ‘j’ making up the nose. Play OJO is run by ‘OJO’, an excitable, rewarding and generous host. We really, really liked how they described themselves as ‘the fair casino’ - they promise that all wins will be paid in cash, there are no wagering requirements (which is pretty revolutionary for an online casino), and there’s no maximum win limit from bonus spins. Play OJO is regulated by the highly respected UK Gambling Commission, and more importantly, they promise ‘No BS’ - here’s hoping.

Games and Software

With so many software providers powering the site, there’s really a huge range of games – and the best selection around to choose from.

One minor hiccup here, is that it’s a bit difficult to filter the games; other than a search button (asking ‘what can I help you find amigo?’), the only filtering available is if you happen to notice the tiny ‘Advanced Search’ link, way off to the side.

Once you click on Advanced Search, suddenly things become much clearer – you can search for games provided by certain software providers, ‘slots play’ (volatility level, slots themes, slots features etc), popular, new, star rating and min and max bets.

However, all’s well that ends well – and there are some really popular games on offer at Play OJO. There’s Barcrest’s uber-popular Rainbow Riches, Yggdrasil’s Viking’s Go Berzerk, and Williams Interactive’s ‘Zeus, God of Thunder’.

Otherwise, there are quite a few nice non-slot games on offer. For fans of table games, Play OJO boasts around 20 roulette variants, including some we’ve never come across before (Raroulette, or Italian Roulette, anyone?) alongside all of the usual European and French classics. For Blackjack fans, there are fewer options, but still enough to keep a Blackjack fan happy.

Otherwise, there are a few card games, including Punto Banco and five variants of Baccarat.

Live Casino

As you’d probably expect, Play OJO’s live casino is nicely weird and wacky, while still being pretty full.

Boasting goodies from the likes of Evolution (considered the gold standard of live games), as well as NetEnt and Extreme Gaming, the live casino section is neatly divided into Blackjack live games, Roulette and ‘Others’.

Of these, Roulette games are by far the most plentiful, with a whopping 22 games to choose from. Try your hand at more traditional live dealer games like Live Roulette, VIP Roulette and the nicely titled ‘Roulette’, or have a whirl and a spin with the exiticly named Sizzling Hot Roulette, Deutsches Roulette and Lucky Lady’s Roulette.

Otherwise the Blackjack games section is nicely stocked, with 14 variants to choose from, including Blackjack Live, VIP Blackjack, Manual Shoe A and Live Blackjack Pro. In the ‘Others’ section, there are 14 games to choose from, including table games such as Baccarat and Casino Hold’Em, and some exciting games which we’re not sure we’ve experienced, such as Golden Ball Game Show Edition, Casino Admiral and Benelux Slingshot.

Mobile Casino

We were pretty impressed with the mobile version of the desktop site, and even more so with the fun iOS and Android apps. There are a huge range of games to choose from, and the apps run nicely with no lagging or crashing in sight.

Live chat is also available from the mobile site and the apps, as are deposits and withdrawals. The reason the mobile version doesn’t get the full 5 stars from us, is because in some places, the banner graphics, or menu items are a little bit small. It’s not really a problem – we just would have liked to have seen them a touch bigger and clearer.

As you’d probably expect from such a wacky, different-looking casino, there are some interesting little tidbits which will keep any player interested…

First off, there’s the OJO Wheel, which activates when players (in OJO’s words), ‘unlock a special level, or maybe as a random treat, or you know, whenever I feel like’. We think this means these are awarded at random – but these can definitely make or break your OJO experience! There are three levels of the wheel – Wheely Easy (you’re guaranteed to win), The Wheel Deal (bigger prizes, but it’s more risky, and Are You For Wheel!!?, where there are ‘even BIGGER rewards, but even bigger risk…’

Otherwise, there’s Club OJO, which is all about rewarding loyalty. If OJO takes a shine to you, he may even invite you to become an OJO A-lister. What that means is anyone’s guess, but based on the rest of the site and experience, it looks very promising indeed.

Here’s the thing. Other than OJO’s cute little welcome package deal, the promotions (or ‘Kickers’) on offer here are a little bit lacking. ‘Kickers’ are delivered to players daily…but the slight ‘kicker’ here, is that they only last 24 hours. This is both interesting and also a slight drawback – who doesn’t want to be rewarded (and daily at that)? On the flipside, it’s a little bit annoying if you get a really good bonus or promotion, only to have it disappear before you’ve had a chance to claim it! We get the vibe and tactics they’re going for – ‘catch it before it disappears’, but in practice, maybe it’s a little bit too quick for us and most players.

We’ve heard around the online block about how fast Play OJO is at processing withdrawals, and they certainly didn’t disappoint us.

We were impressed with the large range of banking methods available here, including credit cards, Paypal, Skrill, Neteller, Paysafecard, ecoPayz, bank transfer, ebanking and instant banking by Citadel. Each method is available for both deposits and withdrawals, and the minimum deposit across all methods is £10; the minimum withdrawal method is £20. We are fans of this ‘one size fits all’, uncomplicated style of doing banking – and the insanely quick (up to 24 hours) cashouts are something to be cheered and encouraged too.

Customer Support

  • Live Chat: Yes
  • Email:
  • Telephone: 0203 1500 943
  • FAQ: Yes
  • Availability: 6:00 – 00:00 GMT

What’s great about Play OJO is the painstakingly detailed ways that they go about trying to make you feel welcome and at home. This is seen in their really in-depth Help section, which has an interactive tour of the site, a FAQ section, an OJO legend, explaining the various icons you’ll see around the site, and links to the contact pages.

As far as we’re aware, the live chat was answered pretty quickly and efficiently (but, keep in mind that you have to be logged in as a player to access it – this casino needs a bit of commitment!) – although one drawback is that it’s not available 24/7. There are six whole hours of the day where, if you have a question or issue, you won’t get instant support.

Otherwise, there’s a local rate phone number, and a fairly responsive email address too.

The FAQ section has everything you would probably need to know or want to ask, and is pretty entertaining to read (example: ‘Why has my deposit declined? Nooooo!’), giving enough information should you end up with one of the issues described. These are handily separated into different areas, such as Cashing In & Cashing Out, Kickers, The Nice To Know (‘How do I rate OJO’s great games?’) and The Technical Stuff.

Our Verdict

There are a few things which we keep thinking about – the really quick cashouts, the sense of humour – all of which makes Play OJO a definite winner in our eyes.

Not only that, but it’s been such a long time since we saw a casino which is not only funny, but actually delivers on its promise of ‘No BS’.

Yes, the rewards seem a little thinner on the ground, but with the exciting extra bits on offer – OJO’s Wheel, the daily bonuses – there’s definitely a lot on offer here, for any type of player. The variety of games on offer, from a range of software providers, will keep any slots fan on their toes, while table game players will also find something to suit their tastes.

Otherwise we would have liked to have seen 24 hour customer support (it’s just how casinos operate, in this day and age), but hey, if that’s the only (very minor) complaint we have, then Play OJO is clearly doing a lot of other stuff right!
